European Manganese in Slovakia — the EU's Largest Resource Package
Two Slovak deposits forming what is likely the EU's largest domestic European manganese resource package — 24.3 Mt combined historic resource at 12%+ average Mn grade, sitting in the heart of Europe's battery metals corridor. Within 850 km of every announced European gigafactory and 250 km of four major auto-assembly plants. Slovakia's Battery Belt is where European manganese meets European battery demand.
A Foundational EU Resource
Two complementary deposits in Slovakia's Battery Belt — acquired together in January 2026 from VMS Exploration s.r.o.
Two World-Class Deposits
Both host carbonate manganese ore — a structural cost advantage versus oxide ores. Both sit within 300 km of Europe's major battery manufacturing corridor.
Svabovce Deposit
Southeast of Poprad, Slovakia. Five sub-deposits with 35 km of existing underground workings. Recent surface samples up to 23% Mn.
Michalova Deposit
Near Brezno, central Slovakia. Waste dump sampling returned >30% MnO. Shallow geometry ideal for low-cost extraction with full infrastructure in place.
Why Slovakia
EU Member State
Domestic extraction directly inside the European Union — fully aligned with the EU Critical Raw Materials Act's 10% domestic mandate for 2030.
Automotive Heartland
Slovakia produces more cars per capita than any country on Earth. VW-Porsche, Volvo-Northvolt, and InoBat are all within 240 km of the deposits.
Mature Mining Jurisdiction
Centuries of Slovak mining history. Established ŠGÚDŠ geological data, workforce, and supply-chain infrastructure.
Development Timeline
Union Power Metals is in the early stages of advancing both Slovakia licences. The work program below represents our current planning intentions — specific activities and timing remain subject to review and may change as technical work progresses.
